Chappell Roan Honors Cyndi Lauper with a Headline-Making Tribute at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

By Alexus Mosley

A Headline-Making Tribute… literally.

Chappell Roan turned the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame red carpet into performance art. The rising pop star hit the carpet in a newspaper-print skirt with Rococo-esque hoops designed by Efrain Nava and styled by Genesis Webb, paying tribute to two of Cyndi Lauper’s iconic looks from her True Colors music video.

The look was a theatrical nod to Lauper’s fearless individuality and her lasting influence on pop music and fashion alike. And with Lauper being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame that same night, the homage couldn’t have been more poetic.

That’s how you honor a legend.
