Anne Hathaway stepped out in New York City for a special screening of The Devil Wears Prada 2 in a coat from the Michael Kors Collection, reminding us that leopard print doesn’t have to roar to be heard. While it’s a pattern that can do the most, here it’s controlled, and worn with the kind of confidence that makes you realize the difference between wearing something and letting it wear you. Hathaway, of course, chooses the former.

Building the look with some restraint, she paired the coat with classic pointed-toe Gianvito Rossi pumps in red, which were sharp, familiar, and just bold enough. On her arm was the Midi Mayfair bag by Aspinal of London, which brings structure, while Bvlgari sunglasses add that final layer of quiet distance.

This look proves that even the wildest can be tamed.
