Anne Hathaway is putting her own spin on maternity dressing.
The 43-year-old actress, who is pregnant with her third child, stepped out for The End of Oak Street premiere in an unexpected Atelier Prabal Gurung look that paired red-carpet drama with one of fashion’s most casual staples… blue jeans.
And somehow, it works.
Hathaway wore an ice-blue halter top cut high in the front to reveal her baby bump before dramatically cascading into a floor-sweeping train at the back. A flash of crimson lining underneath added an unexpected burst of color, which coordinated perfectly with the pointed red heels peeking out beneath her denim.
Rather than pairing the statement piece with an equally formal skirt or trousers, Hathaway wore it with relaxed, low-rise jeans. The combination gave the look its edge.
The dramatic proportions and sweeping train had all the makings of a traditional red-carpet moment, but the denim immediately made it feel cooler and less precious. It’s maternity dressing that doesn’t rely on disguising the bump or defaulting to a conventional gown. Instead, the silhouette makes Hathaway’s changing shape part of the design.

She kept the beauty relatively classic, wearing her hair pulled into a high ponytail and finishing the look with a bright red lip and sparkling statement earrings.
The result feels particularly fitting for Hathaway, whose fashion evolution over the past several years has increasingly involved taking risks without abandoning the polished glamour she’s known for.
And the styling also taps into fashion’s continued fascination with mixing high and low. Denim on the red carpet is hardly new, but placing relaxed jeans underneath what essentially functions as an evening train creates a striking tension between everyday dressing and couture-level drama.
It’s unexpected and considerably more interesting because of it.
Anne Hathaway could have worn a beautiful maternity gown. Instead, she gave us a baby bump, low-rise denim, and several feet of ice-blue Prabal Gurung trailing behind her.
We’ll take it.
