Donatella Versace is officially onto her next chapter. The designer is partnering with Revolve Group on a new fashion and beauty venture, where she will serve as Chief Creative Officer. The move marks Versace’s return to a leading creative role after stepping away from the fashion house her late brother, Gianni Versace, founded.

The new brand doesn’t have a name just yet, but it already has plans to make an entrance. Its first launch will be in beauty, with fashion expected to follow. The company plans to initially roll out across the United States, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East, while details surrounding specific products, pricing and launch dates remain under wraps.

“I believe creativity should be fearless, inclusive and alive in the world,” Versace said in a statement announcing the partnership. She also pointed to the influence of younger generations working across music, film, art and fashion, positioning the new venture as an opportunity to speak directly to a new audience.

That’s where Revolve comes in. The partnership pairs Versace’s decades of fashion-world experience with Revolve’s digital retail, marketing and e-commerce machine. Revolve will oversee much of the operational side of the business while Versace takes charge creatively.

It’s an unexpected pairing on paper, but also one that makes plenty of sense. Donatella brings one of fashion’s most recognizable creative identities while Revolve brings direct access to a younger, digitally native customer base and the infrastructure to sell to them.

The name is still a mystery, the products are still under wraps, and there isn’t a launch date yet. But Donatella Versace officially has a new brand to build, and naturally, we’ll be watching.
