Victoria's Secret Fashion Show to Return After a Six Year Hiatus
By Alexus Mosley
Victoria’s Secret recently announced that their glamorously, grandeur Fashion Show will return this Fall after a six-year hiatus. The show known for its over-the-top Wings, glitter, sex appeal, and show-stopping musical performances came to a screeching after Victoria’s Secret parent company, L Brands canceled it in an attempt to evolve the brand marketing due to declining viewership for the event. Les Wexner, CEO of L Brands released a statement in 2019 saying, “We must evolve and change to grow. With that in mind, we have decided to re-think the traditional Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Going forward we don't believe network television is the right fit."
On Wednesday, the lingerie and beauty retailer shared its plans to return on Instagram with a video featuring long-standing Angel Angel Candice Swanepoel. The caption read “We’ve read the comments and heard you. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is BACK and will reflect who we are today, plus everything you know and love—the glamour, runway, wings, musical entertainment, and more! Stay tuned…it only gets more iconic from here.”
An official premiere date has not yet been determined.
