Maria Grazia Chiuri Makes a Stylish Return to Fendi
By Alexus Mosley
After a transformative nine-year tenure at Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri is back at where her journey began. From 1989 to 1999, Chiuri crafted iconic accessories, including the legendary Baguette bag, under the guidance of Fendi’s founding sisters. Now, she returns as Chief Creative Officer, succeeding Silvia Venturini Fendi, who transitions to Honorary President. Her debut collection will debut at Milan Fashion Week in February 2026.
Chiuri’s appointment marks a significant moment for Fendi, aligning with the house’s centennial celebrations and a renewed focus on Italian craftsmanship and innovation. LVMH Chairman Bernard Arnault lauds her as “one of the greatest creative talents in fashion today,” while Fendi CEO Ramon Ros emphasizes her role in shaping the brand’s future and nurturing new talent.
Chiuri’s return is not just a homecoming but a powerful statement about the enduring influence of women in fashion. Her legacy includes pioneering feminist themes at Dior and co-directing Valentino’s acclaimed collections. At Fendi, she aims to honor the house’s heritage while steering it toward a bold, inclusive future.
