Suni Lee Claps Back at Criticism After Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Debut
By Alexus Mosley
Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee made history with her debut at the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, walking the runway alongside WNBA star Angel Reese. The 22-year-old gymnast showcased a sporty hot pink ensemble from the brand’s Pink line, featuring subtle wings sewn into her hoodie, a nod to the iconic Victoria’s Secret aesthetic. Despite the excitement surrounding her appearance, Lee faced online criticism, particularly regarding her height.
In response, Lee took to TikTok, lip-syncing to Ariana Grande’s “Successful” and captioning the video, “Can u guys stop bullying me.” She engaged with supportive comments, including one from Ming Lee Simmons, who wrote, “Who’s bullying you?! I won’t allow it,” and another fan who remarked, “You were on the runway and they were mad and at HOME.” Lee also responded to a user questioning the height-related criticism, stating, “u cant control that bro,” to which she added, “like literally.”
Reflecting on her debut, Lee shared that stepping into the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show felt like a dream outside her comfort zone, but one she embraced fully to inspire others. She emphasized the importance of showing young girls that they can be strong, glamorous, and authentic, stating, “Growing up, I didn’t see many girls who looked like me in spaces like this.” Lee’s participation in the show symbolizes a continued push for representation and self-acceptance in traditionally exclusive fashion spaces.
