Jake Paul Hospitalized With Double Broken Jaw After Heavyweight Fight With Anthony Joshua
By Alexus Mosley
In a heavyweight clash that had the internet buzzing, YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul faced off against former unified world champion Anthony Joshua Friday night at the Kaseya Center in Miami. But what was meant to be another major crossover spectacle quickly turned into a stark reminder of what real boxing power looks like.
Joshua dominated the action from start to finish, eventually securing a sixth-round knockout that left Paul struggling to beat the count. The punch that finished the bout also finished Paul’s night (and tempers ) as the American star was taken to the hospital after the bout with a double broken jaw, confirmed by Paul himself via social media posts and X-rays shared online.
Despite the serious injury, Paul kept fans entertained with his signature bravado, captioning his X-ray with “Give me Canelo in 10 days,” and thanking supporters from his hospital room. Doctors expect a 4–6 week recovery period, during which Paul will be sidelined and likely sipping nothing but liquids.
On the other side, Joshua, who is now 29-4 with 26 KOs, proved why he’s regarded as one of boxing’s elite punchers and has already pivoted toward future big fights, including throwing down the gauntlet for Tyson Fury.
This bout may go down as one of the most talked-about crossover matchups of the year, but for Jake Paul, the biggest takeaway might be learning the hard way that heavyweight boxing isn’t just entertainment.
