Today, we mark the passing of an icon. Robert Redford, beloved actor, visionary director, and tireless champion of independent film, has died at age 89.

From his unforgettable roles in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, All the President’s Men, and The Way We Were to his Oscar-winning turn behind the camera in Ordinary People, Redford lived a life defined by artistry, integrity, and daring risks.

Beyond the screen, his founding of the Sundance Institute and Festival changed the face of cinema, creating a home for voices and stories that might never have been heard otherwise.

Robert Redford passed away peacefully at his home in Utah, surrounded by family.
