The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Whitney Rose has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Justin Rose, after nearly 17 years of marriage.

According to Page Six, Whitney, 40, filed the paperwork Tuesday, October 6, in Utah’s Third District Court, Salt Lake Department. While many divorce documents are classified as private under Utah law, the outlet reports that Whitney submitted a proposed parenting plan as part of the filing.

Whitney and Justin, 58, tied the knot in November 2009 and share two children, daughter Bobbie, 16, and son Brooks, 13. Justin is also a father to three sons from his previous marriage.

News of the divorce comes several months after reports that the couple had been “living separate lives.”

In July, Whitney and Justin had each expressed frustrations about their marriage to people close to them, with sources claiming the two were rarely spending time together.

“They are never together, even when they’re in the same place, like the gym,” one source told the outlet. Another insider alleged that the pair had been “existing” as a couple “for the sake of the kids,” while Whitney was reportedly spending less time at the couple’s shared home ahead of filming for Season 7 of RHOSLC. Whitney also noticeably left Justin out of an Instagram summer photo dump dedicated to the people and things that bring her “the deepest sense of happiness and joy.”

Financial stress may have also contributed to problems in the marriage, though neither Whitney nor Justin has publicly confirmed the reason for their split. The divorce marks the end of a relationship that has played out on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City since Whitney joined the franchise in its debut season.

Neither Whitney nor Justin have commented.
