San Francisco 49ers’ Keion White Shot in Ankle After Attending Super Bowl 2026

Keion White is recovering after a frightening end to Super Bowl weekend.

The San Francisco 49ers defensive end was hospitalized after being shot in the ankle early Monday morning in San Francisco, just hours after attending Super Bowl LX. In a statement shared on Feb. 9, the team confirmed White was taken into surgery and is expected to recover.

According to police, the shooting occurred around 4 a.m. on Mission Street and stemmed from an altercation between two groups inside a nearby business. Authorities do not believe White was involved in the argument and have confirmed he was an unintended victim.

Earlier in the night, White shared moments from the Super Bowl, including photos from inside Levi’s Stadium and glimpses of the star-studded halftime show. What began as a celebratory sports night quickly turned into a sobering reminder of how unpredictable life can be.

The 49ers have asked for privacy as White recovers.
