Spice Girls Cancel 30th Anniversary Reunion Plans
By Alexus Mosley
The Spice Girls have officially canceled their highly anticipated 30th anniversary reunion. The iconic girl group had been rumored to reunite to celebrate 30 years since their debut single “Wannabe.” But those plans have now fallen through.
Melanie C, aka Sporty Spice, confirmed the news during an appearance on The Smallzy Show, saying plainly, " There is no reunion planned.
Despite the setback, she made it clear the door isn’t fully closed. “We are communicating all the time… we want to do something,” she shared, adding that she remains optimistic about a future reunion. The group (Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Melanie C, Geri Halliwell, and Emma Bunton) last performed together publicly at the 2012 London Olympics Closing Ceremony. While four members reunited for a 2019 tour, Beckham notably did not participate.
Recent appearances (like their private singalong at Beckham’s 50th birthday and reunions at Bunton’s celebration) sparked speculation of a comeback, but those moments haven’t translated into an official tour or performance.
For now, fans hoping for a full Spice Girls reunion will have to wait.
