Pop icon Britney Spears is reportedly facing legal trouble after an alleged DUI arrest late Wednesday night.

According to reports circulating online, the 44-year-old singer was taken into custody on the side of the road in Ventura County, California, around 9:30 p.m. on March 4.

Records cited by outlets including TMZ and Page Six claim Spears was booked in the early hours of the morning, then released just a few hours later.

Page Six reports that Spears was officially booked at approximately 3:02 a.m. and released from custody at 6:07 a.m., according to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department inmate records.

At the time of publication, additional details about the circumstances surrounding the alleged arrest have not been confirmed. The reported incident comes during a relatively quiet period for Spears in the headlines. Last month, reports surfaced that the pop star had sold the rights to portions of her music catalog in a deal believed to be worth around $200 million.
