Love Island USA’s Olandria Carthen and Nic Vansteenberghe Break Up After One Year Together

Another Love Island USA romance has come to an end.
Fan-favorite couple Olandria Carthen and Nic Vansteenberghe have broken up, just over a year after leaving the Fiji villa together, PEOPLE has confirmed.
According to a source, the pair mutually decided to end their relationship as the realities of long distance and demanding schedules made it increasingly difficult to maintain their romance.
“The distance between them and their busy schedules made it challenging to maintain their connection,” the source told PEOPLE, adding that the former couple “still remain close friends” and “share a deep love and respect for each other and will always support one another whenever possible.”
Carthen and Vansteenberghe became one of Season 7’s most beloved couples after a surprise Casa Amor twist gave both Islanders another chance at finding love. Although their connection quickly won over viewers, Carthen previously admitted she initially held back her feelings out of respect for Cierra Ortega, who had been coupled up with Vansteenberghe earlier in the season.
Despite keeping much of their relationship private after the show, the couple remained a favorite among Love Island USA fans, many of whom continued rooting for them long after the cameras stopped rolling.
While their romantic relationship has come to an end, it appears there is no bad blood between the pair. According to the source, Carthen and Vansteenberghe intend to remain supportive of one another as they move forward separately.
As with many reality television romances, life beyond the villa proved to be very different from life inside it. Still, Olandria and Nic leave their relationship on good terms, closing one chapter while preserving the friendship that first brought them together.
