Nicki Minaj visited the United Nations Headquarters in New York City on November 18 to draw global attention to the rising persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

The event, hosted by the United States Mission to the United Nations, spotlighted the alarming increase in targeted religious violence across the African nation.

Minaj spoke during the “Combatting Religious Violence and the Killing of Christians in Nigeria” panel, delivering an emotional message about the urgency of the crisis.

“In Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes, and killed. Churches have been burned. Families have been torn apart, and entire communities live in fear constantly, simply because of how they pray.”

She emphasized that protecting vulnerable communities is not a matter of division, but of humanity:

“Sadly, this problem is not only a growing problem in Nigeria, but also in so many other countries across the world, and it demands urgent action. And I want to be clear, protecting Christians in Nigeria is not about taking sides or dividing people. It is about uniting humanity.”

Minaj’s appearance highlights a growing era where global entertainers are using their platforms to bring awareness to humanitarian and political crises, underscoring the evolving relationship between pop culture and global diplomacy.
