Snooki Shares Her Scary Cervical Cancer Diagnosis: A Reminder for Women to Stay on Top of Health
By Alexus Mosley
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is opening up about a frightening health journey, using her platform to encourage women to prioritize their wellness.
The Jersey Shore star revealed in a TikTok video on Jan. 21 that after years of abnormal pap smear results, a recent colposcopy and biopsy uncovered cancerous cells on the top of her cervix. “Results come back,” she shared, “Doctor calls me and he’s like, ‘Not looking great.’ He found cancerous cells on the top of my cervix.”
Polizzi, 38, explained that she will need an additional cone biopsy under anesthesia to determine the next steps. Despite feeling “terrified,” she is focused on getting answers and staying proactive about her health. “It’s scary,” she said, “but we have to get it done because cervical cancer is nothing to joke about.”
She also emphasized the importance of scheduling routine appointments, something she admits she had been putting off due to stress. “So ladies, stay on your appointments is basically what this video is about,” she said. “Because we’re talking the future. If now this biopsy comes back, not great, the next step would be a hysterectomy.”
The reality TV star candidly shared the emotional impact of a potential hysterectomy. “The thought of getting a hysterectomy… it’s sad, and it’s scary. I’m done having kids, but the thought of not being able to have kids, I think that’s what’s killing me. But whatever, whatever to keep me healthy and safe, to be here for my kids that I have now.”
Snooki sought comfort and advice from her followers, inviting other women to create a supportive community online. “I would love for just the community of mamas who has gotten this done and is dealing with this to just comment below,” she said. “Being a woman is not easy, and this is definitely a scary thing. And I know I’m going to be fine. It’s just. It’s scary.”
Fans and friends quickly flooded her video with well wishes. Fellow Jersey Shore alum Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancolo wrote, “Love you! You got this,” while Jenni Farley expressed her support, and Deena Nicole Buckner affirmed, “We’re all here for you.”
As Polizzi faces this challenging journey with a strong community by her side, she joins other celebrities who have shared their cancer battles, using visibility to remind everyone of the importance of health screenings and self-care.
