Directed by David Lowery, Mother Mary is already building buzz as a moody, genre-blurring drama centered on a fictional pop star and the complicated relationship with an iconic fashion designer. The film is expected to arrive in theatres across the U.S. on April 17.

Anne Hathaway glided in with that signature ease that makes everything feel softer, quieter, and somehow more powerful, while Michaela Coel brought a grounded, magnetic presence that was calm, composed, and fully in control. FKA Twigs, as always, felt like she existed slightly outside of the moment, turning an arrival into something closer to performance, and Alba Baptista delivered a subtle confidence that kept our attention.
