Kim Kardashian’s ‘Group Chat’ Series Not Moving Forward at Hulu

Kim Kardashian’s latest TV venture is no longer moving forward. The reality star and producer’s planned series Group Chat has officially been scrapped at Hulu, despite generating early interest following its announcement in 2024. Kardashian was set to narrate the project and serve as an executive producer, marking another step in her expansion into scripted television.

At the time of its announcement, Kardashian shared her excitement about developing more layered, personal stories. “I’m incredibly interested in telling stories that are personal, complicated, and relevant,” she said, positioning Group Chat as a project rooted in real-life experiences and relationships. The series also had a strong cast attached, including Meagan Good, Yaya DaCosta, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Melanie Liburd, and Stephanie Suganami. Described as fun and relatable, the show was expected to center on modern friendships and the complexities that come with them.

Meagan Good later revealed that the project had been a long time in the making, explaining that she and Kardashian had been looking for the right opportunity to collaborate before landing on Group Chat. Despite the momentum and recognizable names behind it, the series ultimately did not move forward at Hulu. While no official reason has been publicly confirmed, the decision reflects the ongoing shifts within streaming as platforms continue to reassess their development slates.

Still, the project’s early buzz (and the team behind it) suggests that Group Chat may not be the last time this concept resurfaces in some form.
