Zendaya’s “Something Blue” Beauty Look Is the Real Star of The Drama Premiere

By Alexus Mosley

Something blue… but make it beauty. At the New York premiere of The Drama, Zendaya’s glam was the cherry on top of the method dressing that we’ve all been fawning over this entire press tour. While her Schiaparelli gown handled the drama, it was her makeup that quietly tied everything together.

Tradition calls for something old, something new, something borrowed… and something blue. And while the gown gave us a bold interpretation, her beauty look offered something more subtle, yet just as effective. A wash of soft, diffused blue shadow hugged the eyes, adding depth without overwhelming the look. It wasn’t loud, but it didn’t need to be. It was the kind of detail you notice twice and appreciate even more the second time.

The look, created by makeup artist Ernesto Casillas, was a beautiful balance. The blue tones were blended seamlessly into a smoky eye, paired with sculpted skin, softly bronzed cheeks, and a neutral, glossy lip. The result was glam that didn’t try too hard. Which, of course, is always the goal. Zendaya’s slicked-back, almost wet-look hair kept the focus exactly where it needed to be… on the face.

Paired with sparkling earrings from Tiffany & Co. that echoed the blue tones in her makeup, the entire look felt cohesive without being overly coordinated. Nothing matched too perfectly, and that’s exactly why it worked.
