Prince William and Kate Middleton Win Lawsuit Against Parisian News Outlet
By Alexus Mosley
In a quietly powerful move, the Prince and Princess of Wales have taken a meaningful stand for family privacy. In the recent legal case decided in France, Prince William and Kate Middleton emerged victorious against the French magazine Paris Match, which published long-lens photographs from their Alpine vacation with their three children the court found to be “grossly intrusive.”
The images, taken during what the couple considered a private family break, captured the children, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte, in an environment where the royals had presumed privacy. The couple opted not to pursue financial compensation, choosing instead to insist on a formal judicial notice acknowledging the breach. The magazine was ordered to cover legal costs and publish the court’s notice.
