Cardi B Tells Fans to “Calm Down” After Relationship Backlash

By Alexus Mosley

Cardi B is asking fans to take a step back.

The Grammy-winning rapper addressed growing online criticism surrounding her relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs in a candid video posted to X on Monday, Dec. 29, after days of speculation and commentary from fans intensified.

“Y’all need to calm down,” Cardi began, making it clear that the tone of the conversation had crossed a line. “Y’all been dragging me for three or four days, and y’all been a little bit too mean.”

The backlash followed online chatter after the rapper appeared to spend Christmas apart from Diggs, prompting fans to speculate about the state of their relationship. Rather than letting the narrative spiral further, Cardi chose to address the commentary head-on, but not with explanation and instead with boundaries.

“I can’t change s—,” she said plainly. “I can’t go back in time. I already had a baby. Y’all want me to put my baby back in my p––? I don’t know what y’all want me to do.”

Cardi and Diggs welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, in November. Cardi is also a mother of three children from her previous marriage to rapper Offset, while Diggs is a father to daughters from prior relationships.

While Diggs shared holiday photos featuring his children and reposted Cardi’s Instagram post including their newborn, Cardi made it clear that public snapshots do not entitle the internet to commentary on her personal life.

“I need my support system, my fans, to love me,” she added. “I want you to come to my tour and enjoy yourself with me. Don’t be dragging me. It’s enough.”

Beyond the relationship discourse, Cardi emphasized that her focus is shifting toward work, noting that the start of the new year already feels overwhelming with upcoming commitments.
