Apparently, Blake Lively goes shopping in the Chanel archives, and frankly, we support it. The actress recently made a rare public appearance on New York City's Upper East Side wearing a navy blue sequined Chanel minidress from the fashion house's 1994 collection. And thirty-two years later, this little Chanel number still knows how to make an entrance. The strapless number featured a fitted silhouette, a flirty little hemline, and black ribbon bows down the front. Very appropriate for the holiday season.
Naturally, one Chanel piece wasn't enough. Lively accessorized with a black Chanel bucket bag, Christian Louboutin heels, and sparkling earrings. Her signature blonde waves and soft glam completed the look, proving that sometimes the best accessory is knowing when to let the dress do the talking.

The Gossip Girl actress was attending an event celebrating jewelry designer Brent Neale's new holiday collection. The outing marked one of Lively's relatively rare public appearances this year. And while the dress may be more than three decades old, there's nothing dated about it. Between the sequins, bows, and abbreviated hemline, the look feels perfectly at home in today's fashion landscape.
Leave it to a little vintage Chanel to remind us that a good dress never really goes out of style. The moral of the story? Never underestimate a good vintage find. Especially when that find happens to be Chanel.
