Another Love Is Blind love story has officially come to an end.

Season 4 stars Chelsea Griffin and Kwame Appiah announced that they are breaking up after four years of marriage, sharing the news in emotional statements posted to social media on May 15.

The pair first met during Netflix’s Seattle-based season of Love Is Blind and quickly became one of the franchise’s most talked-about couples. While their relationship faced criticism from viewers throughout the season ( particularly surrounding Kwame’s connection with fellow cast member Micah Lussier), the two ultimately made it down the aisle and remained together long after filming wrapped.

In her statement, Chelsea described the split as “deeply painful,” explaining that despite entering the marriage with genuine love and commitment, the two eventually realized they were growing in different directions. Kwame echoed similar feelings, noting that their long-term life goals no longer aligned while emphasizing the respect and care they still have for one another. The breakup comes just weeks after Chelsea addressed online speculation surrounding their relationship when fans noticed she was no longer wearing her wedding ring.

At one point, Chelsea and Kwame were viewed as one of Love Is Blind’s success stories, proof that the unconventional Netflix experiment could actually produce lasting relationships. Now, their split joins the growing list of post-show breakups that continue to fuel conversations around the reality series and whether love can truly survive once the cameras stop rolling.

For longtime viewers of the franchise, the news feels like the end of another era in the Love Is Blind universe.
