The ‘Elle’ Cast Just Had the Most Elle Woods-Coded Blonde Brunch Ever

By Alexus Mosley

There are few things more culturally powerful than a group of fashionable blondes (and brunettes) gathering in Beverly Hills for brunch, and thankfully, the cast of Elle understood the assignment perfectly.

Over the weekend, Lexi Minetree stepped fully into her Elle Woods era while attending a Rodeo Drive brunch event celebrating Prime Video’s upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle. Dressed like the human embodiment of a 2000s rom-com montage, the actress looked perfectly at home among pink florals, sunny Beverly Hills backdrops, and a cast that already feels suspiciously good at serving “future Delta Nu royalty.”

It looked less like a press event and more like the kind of brunch Elle Woods herself would host after acing a midterm and buying a new Juicy Couture tracksuit. The 25-year-old actress was joined by co-stars June Diane Raphael, Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovitz, Chandler Kinney, Zac Looker, and Jessica Belkin for the Sunday Funday outing, which naturally included glamorous smiles, polished blowouts, and even a tiny dog that immediately reminded everyone of Bruiser Woods himself.

And somehow, the tiny dog may have been the most method actor-coded attendee of the day.

The upcoming Prime Video series takes audiences back before Elle Woods became Harvard’s most fashionable law student. Instead, season one follows Elle in 1995 as she navigates the chaos of high school, complete with complicated friendships, first love, family dynamics, and what the show describes as “questionable fashion choices.” Though honestly, if this brunch was any indication, we’re expecting the fashion to be excellent.

In many ways, the series feels perfectly timed. For the past few years, pop culture has been fully re-embracing hyper-femininity, glossy 2000s fashion, and the kind of bubbly blonde archetype that Legally Blonde helped redefine back in 2001. Long before “girlhood” became an aesthetic category online, Elle Woods was already proving that being feminine, fashionable, emotional, and intelligent were never mutually exclusive. And now, a whole new generation is about to meet her on July 1 on Prime Video.
