Spice Girls Announce ‘The Singles Collection’ With 4 Previously Unreleased Demos

The Spice Girls are giving fans a little extra spice for their 30th anniversary.
Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Melanie C, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell announced The Singles Collection on September 10, revealing a new release that brings together the group’s singles and B-sides for the first time.
The collection arrives on November 6, almost exactly 30 years after the release of the group’s blockbuster debut album, Spice.
And for longtime fans, there’s an even bigger reason to be excited.
The physical CD edition will include four previously unreleased demo recordings pulled from the group’s archives. One of those demos is “Do You Think About Me,” an early Spice Girls track that has circulated among fans for years but has never been officially released. The collection will finally give fans the chance to hear an official version, along with three additional previously unreleased demos.
The announcement comes after the group teased that something was on the way with a cryptic video filmed on the staircase of London’s St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, the same location famously featured in the “Wannabe” music video. The teaser referenced needing a “vinyl or CD player” and clues that seemed to point to the November 6 release date.
The timing couldn’t be more fitting. Spice was released in November 1996 and introduced the world to hits including “Wannabe,” “Say You’ll Be There,” “2 Become 1” and “Mama.” The album went on to become one of the defining pop records of the decade and the best-selling album by a girl group.
The Spice Girls last toured as a four-piece in 2019 with Geri, Mel B, Mel C and Emma. All five members last performed together publicly at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.
For now, there’s no reunion tour announcement, but four unreleased demos and a full singles collection are certainly enough to get fans talking.
