Happy birthday to one-third of the Jonas Brothers, one of Disney Channel’s most memorable heartthrobs, and the man responsible for making an entire generation suddenly very interested in purity rings.
Nick Jonas turns 34 today, and somehow that feels impossible if your brain still files him under Camp Rock, skinny ties, and the Jonas Brothers playing on Disney Channel every 15 minutes. But from teen-pop mania to solo hits, acting roles, and one very successful brotherly reunion, Nick has managed to grow up without ever fully leaving pop culture behind.
So in honor of his birthday, we’re looking back at a few of the moments that made Nick Jonas a permanent fixture in our Y2K-and-beyond pop culture memory.
The Jonas Brothers Take Over Disney Channel
Before streaming playlists and TikTok fandoms, there was Disney Channel playing the Jonas Brothers approximately every 12 minutes. Nick, Joe, and Kevin became one of the defining teen-pop acts of the late 2000s, and by 2008, A Little Bit Longer had reached No. 1 on the album chart.
Nick Jonas Enters His Camp Rock Era

Nick played Nate in Camp Rock, joining his brothers in one of the most memorable Disney Channel franchises of the era. The movies gave us summer-camp drama, aggressively catchy songs, and enough skinny scarves to fill an entire mall.
The Brothers Get Their Own Disney Show
By 2009, the Jonas Brothers had officially reached “give them their own sitcom” levels of fame. JONAS followed fictionalized versions of Nick, Joe, and Kevin trying to balance regular teenage life with being internationally famous rock stars. Very relatable, obviously.
Nick Goes Solo With “Jealous”

Nick’s 2014 solo era was the moment everyone collectively realized the youngest Jonas Brother had grown up. “Jealous” became his first solo Top 10 single and helped establish a slicker, more mature pop-R&B sound away from the band.
The Jonas Brothers Reunite With “Sucker”
Just when we had accepted the Jonas Brothers as a treasured piece of 2000s history, they came back. “Sucker” became the group’s first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 and kicked off their hugely successful Happiness Begins era in 2019.
Nick Becomes a Movie Star With Jumanji
Nick expanded his résumé beyond music with film roles including Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. It was another reminder that the former Disney kid had quietly built himself into a full-fledged multi-hyphenate.
His Broadway Beginnings Come Full Circle

Way before the Jonas Brothers became a household name, Nick was already performing professionally. He started his stage career as a child and made his Broadway debut years before his teen-pop fame, making his later returns to theater feel like a very full-circle moment.
