Blair Waldorf Is Getting Her Own Gossip Girl Sequel Novel
By Alexus Mosley
Blair Waldorf is officially stepping back into the spotlight.
Cecily von Ziegesar, the author behind the original Gossip Girl book series, is writing a standalone sequel novel centered on fan-favorite character Blair Waldorf. Titled Blair, the book will follow the former Constance Billard School for Girls student 20 years after her Upper East Side reign. The novel is tentatively scheduled for publication in Summer 2027.
While many fans were introduced to Blair through Leighton Meester’s iconic portrayal on the hit CW series, the character’s arc in the books differs in notable ways. Now, von Ziegesar is revisiting the original literary version of Blair, offering longtime readers a chance to see how the Queen B of the page has evolved in adulthood.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the announcement alone has already sparked buzz among Gossip Girl fans. With Blair returning to New York City and reentering elite social circles, the sequel promises a fresh look at one of YA literature’s most enduring “it-girls.”
Whether this new chapter opens the door to future screen adaptations remains to be seen. For now, fans can mark their calendars for Summer 2027 and prepare for Blair Waldorf’s next era.
