Zaire Wade has been charged with a felony weeks after his arrest on suspicion of domestic violence.

According to a felony criminal complaint obtained by People, the 24-year-old son of former NBA star Dwyane Wade has been charged with felony injuring a cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend, or child’s parent. The complaint, filed by Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman, alleges that Zaire “willfully inflicted corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition” on the alleged victim, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed. Court documents also state that the alleged victim was in a romantic relationship with Zaire.

The charge stems from an incident that took place on June 21, when police responded to a home in Burbank, California, at approximately 5:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a woman screaming. According to authorities, officers arrived to find Zaire and a woman who had lacerations to her face and body.

Zaire was arrested and booked into jail in Los Angeles, where his bail was set at $50,000. He was released later that day after posting bond. Authorities also obtained an emergency protective order for the alleged victim. At the time of his arrest, he was booked on suspicion of domestic violence, criminal threats, and false imprisonment.

Dwyane Wade shares Zaire and daughter Zaya with his ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches. He is also the father of his son Xavier with Aja Metoyer and his daughter Kaavia with his wife Gabrielle Union. In 2011, Wade was awarded full custody of his nephew, Dahveon Morris.

As of publication, Dwyane Wade has not publicly commented on his son’s arrest or the felony charge.

Zaire Wade’s arraignment is scheduled for July 16 in Pasadena, California.

The charges against Zaire Wade are allegations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
