Perez Hilton’s family is sharing an update after the celebrity blogger was hospitalized earlier this week.
In a statement released on Aug. 5, Hilton’s family confirmed that he is currently receiving medical care and thanked supporters for the outpouring of concern following the incident.
“We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers,” the statement read. “We can confirm that Perez is receiving medical care, and our family’s focus right now is on his well-being.”
The family also asked for privacy as Hilton continues his recovery.
“We kindly ask that you respect Perez’s privacy, as well as the privacy of his family, during this difficult time,” the statement continued. “If and when we can share any updates, we will do so with everyone as soon as we can. Thank you for your compassion, understanding, and continued support.”
The update comes one day after authorities responded to Hilton’s Miami home following a livestream that prompted concern among viewers. According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded after receiving multiple calls and later confirmed that Hilton had been safely transported to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention.
Hilton’s representative also issued a statement, emphasizing that the family’s priority remains his recovery. “Our focus remains on Perez’s health, recovery and the privacy of both him and his family during this incredibly difficult time,” his representative said. “We respectfully ask that everyone continue to honor his privacy while he receives the care he needs.”
The media personality has not commented publicly since the incident. As support continues to pour in from fans and fellow media personalities, Hilton’s family says their attention remains on his health and well-being as he receives care.
