30 Zendaya Moments We’ll Never Get Over

Zendaya is officially 30! It feels like just yesterday we were watching a teenage Zendaya Coleman dance across our television screens as Rocky Blue on Shake It Up. Since then, she’s pulled off one of the most impressive former-child-star evolutions of her generation.
She gave us a legitimate pop-star era, graduated from Disney Channel, entered the Marvel universe, became Rue Bennett, collected Emmys, conquered the box office, and turned nearly every red carpet she stepped onto into an event. And we have a feeling she’s only getting started.
In honor of Zendaya’s 30th birthday on September 1, we’re looking back at 30 moments from her career that we’ll never get over.
When Shake It Up Introduced Us to Rocky Blue
Before Zendaya was wearing couture and collecting Emmys, she was Rocky Blue, the sweet, ambitious dancer opposite Bella Thorne’s CeCe Jones on Disney Channel’s Shake It Up. The series premiered in 2010 and introduced millions of us to the girl who would eventually become one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
When She Gave Us “Swag It Out”
You simply had to be there. “Swag It Out” arrived during the peak Disney-pop era and gave us one of our earliest glimpses of Zendaya as a performer outside of Rocky Blue.
When Zendaya and Bella Thorne Released “Watch Me”
Rocky and CeCe weren’t just dancing together on television. Zendaya and Bella Thorne teamed up for “Watch Me” in 2011, giving Shake It Up fans another quintessential piece of Disney Channel nostalgia.

Then came Euphoria.
When Zendaya took on the role of Rue Bennett in 2019, audiences saw an entirely different side of the actress. Rue was complicated, troubled, frustrating and deeply vulnerable, giving Zendaya the opportunity to prove she was capable of far more than anyone had seen during her Disney years.
When She Made Emmy History
In 2020, Zendaya won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Euphoria, becoming the youngest winner of the category at the time.
Rocky Blue had officially become an Emmy winner.
When She Made Malcolm & Marie During the Pandemic
Zendaya teamed up with John David Washington for the intimate black-and-white drama Malcolm & Marie, which was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Zendaya wasn’t simply its star. She was also a producer, another sign that her ambitions extended far beyond being the woman standing in front of the camera.
When She Entered the World of Dune
Zendaya joined yet another blockbuster universe as Chani in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune.

On September 1, 2026, Zendaya officially enters her thirties with an already remarkable résumé: Disney Channel star, singer, Emmy-winning actress, producer, blockbuster leading lady and bona fide fashion icon.
The wildest part? At 30, this story still feels like it’s somewhere near the beginning.
